Florida Paddlers Converge on Welaka!
Putnam Blueways and Trails hosted the 2014 Florida Paddle Rendezvous. This video was taken on the paddle from the Rodman Dam on the Ocklawaha river to the town of Welaka. The lunch rest stop included a music treat of banjo music. Pay attention to the last frame. It is taken from the back deck of our Deluxe Riverfront Cottage!
All of our cottages were filled with paddlers over the long weekend. Here's what one of our guests had to say about their stay at Welaka Lodge:
"Made the reservation because of location. We attended the 2014 Florida Paddlers Rendevous. We were absolutely thoroughly impressed with this cottage. It is well-equipped, very clean, linens are great. Nice attention to details. The open room makes it feel much bigger and spacious. Love the porch swing and chairs. Hot tub was perfect as was the pool after paddling 13 miles of the Oklawaha River. The people of Putnam County been so welcoming and friendly sharing the history of the area. This was a perfect home away from home with all the necessities for our stay. Our group occupied all the cottages. All of us were equally pleased with all aspects. Thanks for a great stay!"
Thank you, Florida Paddlers and Putnam Blueways and Trails!
